From left you find the System Menu screen captured

here has most of the installation related settings that you need to verify or change.

 

 

 

Default PIN is 0000

 

 

 

 

LNB PORT SETUP

Telstar5 is the default ( the new name: Intelsat America 5)

This is the page that you need BEFORE setup the outside dish and aiming,

1. LNBF Setup

standard C/Ku LNBF LO Freq is this

LNB: Normal 5150MHz 10750Mhz

( If you have Universal LNBF such like 321-2 LNBF , then use Universal LO - Low 9750 ,High 10600 )

Installation

Use the Manual Scanning page when tuning your outdoor dish. You need to have the blue bar shown, it locked the signal to ensure your picture quality, must be over 40 and turn in Blue color.

No quality bar = No picture

To Add/Change the Transponder frequency -- Hi-light the Frequency and press Select, then you can make any change.

Samsung DSR 3700FTA/3800CI Start up screen to set up your satellite dish

1. Press Menu

2. Select Installation, press OK

3. Enter code "0000" when ask for password

4. Press number 5 -Manual Scanning

5. The default Transponder should be : Tp:11874 SR:22000 FEC: 3/4 Pol: H ( FEC need to be Auto or exactly right number)

6. Tune outdoor dish, until you get signal quality blue bar more than 40%, no quality bar = no picture

7. Hi light the Scan Mode, and press OK, it will scan the channels on the satellite.

8. Press Exit , and get back to Installation Menu, select 4- Auto Scanning, hi light the satellite name: T5, press left arrow or right arrow, change to ALL, press OK to start scanning all channels on the satellite T5.

9. Once it finish the scanning, a small window will be display, and show "Your digital receiver found: TV programs - 83 , Radio Programs - 27 " Important Here: press OK to save the channels list. ( Do not press exit or menu, if you press them, then your receiver will not memorize the list, you will always stay on menu screen, and not able to exit the menu screen )

10. Press Exit to leave Menu screen, now you will see the picture be showing on the screen. Job done, congratulation!

To add a new transponder

1. Goto manual scanning,

2. Hi light the Load TR , press left button, chang it to NEW,

3. Press OK

4. Press Down Arrow to Hi light the Frequency, input number by press remote control digits, example 12152

5. Press Down Arrow to hi light the Symbol Rate, input number by press remote control digits, example 20000

6. Press Down Arrow to hi light the FEC, press Left or Right Arrow to select, example 3/4

7. Press Down Arrow to hi light the Polarity, press Left or Right Arrow to select Vertical or Horizontal

First set your mounting pole perfectly vertical, use the level tool. very important. Set the right dish elevation angle, look at the side of the dish, there is a red line indicator for the elevation reading.
Then you move it toward the direction, you should get level bar jump higher, then if you set it right, the quality will pop up and is blue bar. that is all

run auto scan , once you got the channels downloaded, PRESS OK to save all, then you exit the menu screen. if you don't have the channels name, then you are not able to exit the menu screen.

Scrolling screen problem: NTSC and PAL

USA TV system is NTSC, if you change it to Europe - PAL , then you will see the scrolling screen.

To Switch it back to NTSC :

1. Menu

2. press 4

3. press 3

4. press Left or Right Arrow to toggle it, until you see the screen is in normal NTSC type.
